A lot of people rescue dogs older than a year or they start to have struggles with their dog later on in life due to adolescence or cognitive decline. It is hard to find a class for dogs older than 6 months, so these classes provide a safe space which doesn't focus on the young'uns!
There are LOTS of great puppy classes throughout Plymouth. If you want some recommendations, pop me a message and I would be happy to direct you to other, qualified trainers who offer those services.
The weekly sessions give you fun training techniques to help you with the focus of the workshop, whether it's recall, loose lead walking or other.
Reactivity does not necessarily mean your dog is aggressive. A reactive dog can include those who get so excited by something in their environment, they completely ignoring you and everything else. Reactive dogs are highly likely, but not always, to have an emotional response driving their behaviours. This means we have to get to the bottom of why they are having that emotional response and come up with ways to tackle it, so that they can more easily respond to you.
If you have a reactive dog or think you do, you need to attend a reactivity workshop first, before you can attend other workshops. This is for the safety of your own dog! If you want to work on recall, you aren't going to get it unless you can break through the emotional response first.
Let me know! I want to offer what my clients need, so pop me an email or message to let me know what workshops you want!
